TikTok GO
How TikTok GO Works, Step by Step
A walkthrough of the TikTok GO booking flow — where listings appear, how the in-app checkout works, who actually holds your reservation, and what to check before you tap book.

TikTok GO is simple once you see the flow. Here it is in order, with the parts most people get wrong.
Step 1 — A listing appears next to the content
Bookable listings surface in three places: inside videos (tagged by the creator or the brand), in search results, and on location or destination pages (Skift).
That is the whole discovery mechanic. You are not browsing a travel site; the travel option is attached to the thing you were already watching.
Step 2 — You open the listing and compare
Tapping through opens details and rates. Because TikTok works with multiple partners — Booking.com, Expedia and GetYourGuide are confirmed among them — you may see different options for the same city or the same type of experience (Netinfluencer, GetYourGuide).
Step 3 — You book without leaving the app
The point of the product is that checkout happens in-app instead of bouncing you to a browser (Engadget). You need to be 18 or older in the U.S. (TechCrunch).
Step 4 — The partner, not TikTok, holds your reservation
This is the step people skip. The booking is fulfilled by the travel partner. So:
- The cancellation and refund policy is the partner's policy.
- The confirmation email comes from the partner.
- If a date changes or a room is wrong, you contact the partner's support.
- Any loyalty points or hotel status follow that partner's rules for third-party bookings — often meaning you earn less than booking direct.
Step 5 — Creators may earn from your booking
If a creator tagged the listing, a completed booking can pay them a commission or voucher (Social Media Today). It costs you nothing extra, but it is worth knowing the incentive exists behind a recommendation.
A four-item checklist before you tap book
- Read the cancellation terms, not the headline price.
- Check the exact property name — video captions are not contracts.
- Compare once against booking direct, especially if you have hotel status.
- Confirm what is included on tours and experiences: transfers, entry, guide, food.
Convenience is the feature. Diligence is still your job.
What is not public yet
TikTok has not published commission rates, and the full list of the six travel partners was not individually named across the reporting reviewed. Numbers you see quoted on marketing blogs should be treated as unconfirmed until TikTok states them.
