What the price includes
Read this before you book anything, anywhere. Knowing the line items is the difference between a clean charter and a surprise at the dock.

Your charter agreement is between you and the yacht owner or operator. Confirm the cancellation policy, weather policy, and whether the price is per-boat or per-person before you pay a deposit. Charter payments are generally non-refundable once the agreement is signed.
How yacht charter actually works
Plain-English breakdown before your first booking.
1. Day charter (the easiest way in)
A 4–8 hour charter with captain and crew included. You board at the marina, cruise, swim off the back, eat onboard, and return the same day. In Miami this is the standard format — Haulover, Miami Beach Marina, Island Gardens, Venetian Marina. It is the fastest path from curious to on the water.
2. Multi-day charter (the "yacht week")
Several nights aboard with captain, chef, and deckhand. The base rate covers the yacht and crew; an Advance Provisioning Allowance covers fuel, food, drinks, and dockage along the route. Popular from Miami into the Bahamas, and seasonally through the Caribbean, Italy, and France.
3. Choosing the boat
Motor yachts (Azimut, Sunseeker, Vanquish) cruise fast and suit day charters and sandbar days. Catamarans are stable, shallow-draft, and best for island hopping and larger groups at anchor. Superyachts like a 166 Trinity are for multi-day charters where the vessel is the destination.
4. Booking and paperwork
Filter listings, pick your window, and review the charter agreement — cruising area, guest count, start and end times, what's included, and the weather clause. Sign digitally, pay by card, then the concierge team coordinates provisioning, chef, and any toys you added.
