Santorini vs Mykonos: Which Greek Island Is Better for Luxury Travelers?

Beach vs view
Santorini has volcanic beaches (Perissa is black sand) — dramatic, not swimmable-comfortable. Mykonos has real beaches — Psarou (Nammos, Scorpios), Paradise, Super Paradise — and this is where the day-scene lives.
The best content window
Santorini sunset from Oia (arrive 90 minutes early or you're behind a wall of people). In Mykonos, sunrise at Little Venice is empty and the light is a mirror.
When to go
June and September. July–August is peak — expensive, hot, crowded. The islands ferry-connect, so a 4-night/4-night split is very doable if you can't pick.
