Before you start — what is Travelpayouts?

Travelpayouts is a free affiliate network built specifically for travel creators. Instead of applying to Booking, Trip.com, GetYourGuide, and 20 other travel brands one by one, you sign up once and get a single dashboard, a single payout in USD, and a single set of tracking links for 100+ trusted brands. It's the fastest legal way for a new travel creator to turn a trip into income.

  1. Step 01

    Create your free Travelpayouts account

    ~ 3 minutes
    • Click the join button below. You'll land on the Travelpayouts sign-up page.
    • Choose 'I'm a partner' (not an advertiser). Enter your name, email, and a password.
    • Confirm your email — the verification lands in your inbox within a minute. If you don't see it, check Promotions/Spam.
    • Fill in your payout details: PayPal is the fastest for most creators; bank wire is available once you cross the payout threshold. You do not need an LLC to start — a personal account is fine.

    Insider tip

You do not need a website, followers, or an audience to be approved. A public Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, blog, or even a Notion page counts.

  2. Step 02

Add your 'traffic source' (your platform)

    ~ 2 minutes
    • Inside the dashboard, go to Profile → Traffic Sources → Add.
    • Pick the platform you'll actually post on (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Blog, Newsletter). You can add more than one.
    • Paste the URL of your profile or site. If you're brand new, use your Instagram or TikTok profile URL — a real handle with even one post is enough to get approved.
    • Give it a short description like 'Luxury travel content for women 25–40, US audience.' This helps brands approve you faster.

    Insider tip

Approvals for most brands are instant or same-day. A few premium hotel programs take 24–72 hours — activate them anyway; they'll approve in the background while you work.

  3. Step 03

Activate the affiliate offers you'll actually use

    ~ 10 minutes
    • Open the Offers tab in the top nav. This is the full catalog — 100+ brands.
    • A good starting set for most travel creators: Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Trip.com, Discover Cars, and WayAway — hotels, tours, flights, cars, and flight deals in one place.
    • Click into each one, read the commission rate and cookie window, then hit 'Connect' (sometimes labeled 'Join' or 'Get access').
    • Add more later based on your trip — for a Maldives post you might add a luxury hotel brand; for a Japan post you'd add Klook; for a road trip you'd add an eSIM brand like Airalo.

    Insider tip

Don't activate all 100 at once. Focus on the 5–10 brands that match the destinations you're actually posting about — it keeps your dashboard clean and your reporting readable.

  4. Step 04

    Generate your first affiliate link

    ~ 2 minutes per link
    • Open the offer you activated (e.g., Booking.com).
    • Choose the tool that matches what you're linking to: 'Deep Link' if you want to link to a specific hotel or search result, 'Search Form' if you want to embed a search widget on a blog, or 'Banner' for a display ad.
    • For most creator content, Deep Link is what you want. Paste the URL of the exact hotel/tour/car listing from the brand's site into the Deep Link field.
    • Click 'Generate' — Travelpayouts spits out a tracked URL. That's your affiliate link. Copy it.

    Insider tip

Shorten it with Bitly or Beacons so it looks clean in captions. The tracking still works — the redirect preserves your marker.

  5. Step 05

Place your links where people actually click

    ~ ongoing
    • Link-in-bio: put your 3–5 most-used links in a Beacons/Stan/Linktree page. Label them by trip ('Book the Maldives hotel', 'Rent the car in Iceland').
    • Captions & stories: 'Comment MALDIVES and I'll DM the hotel link' is the highest-converting pattern on Instagram — reply with the affiliate link.
    • Blog posts & Pinterest: embed deep links directly in written content. This is the highest-lifetime-value placement — a single post can earn for years.
    • Email newsletter: recommendation lists ('The 3 hotels I book on repeat') often convert well because trust is higher than on social feeds.

    Insider tip

Disclose the affiliate relationship. A simple 'affiliate link — costs you nothing extra' at the end of a caption or in your blog footer keeps you FTC-compliant.

  6. Step 06

    Track, get paid, and reinvest

    ~ 5 minutes weekly
    • Statistics tab shows clicks, bookings, and pending vs. confirmed commissions. Hotel bookings typically confirm only after the guest checks out, so payouts arrive weeks after the trip date.
    • Payout minimums and methods (PayPal, wire, etc.) are set by Travelpayouts and shown in your dashboard — check the current thresholds there before you plan around them.
    • Once you're earning consistently, consider reinvesting a portion into better content — a tripod, a better lens, or a trip that produces multiple pieces of content.
    • Layer this with our AI trip planner: every trip you generate already recommends the exact hotels and tours you can now link with your Travelpayouts links.

    Insider tip

Check the dashboard once a week, not once a day. Bookings confirm on a delay — daily checking will drive you crazy.

Common questions

Do I need to be approved by every brand separately?+

No — that's the whole point. One Travelpayouts approval gives you a dashboard where you 'activate' individual brands with a click. Most are instant; a handful (usually premium hotel groups) take 24–72 hours.

How much can I realistically earn?+

Earnings vary widely and depend entirely on your traffic, niche, and consistency — we can't and don't promise any specific number. Travelpayouts publishes each brand's commission rate on the offer page (hotel commissions are commonly in the mid single digits of the booking value); your actual payout depends on how many people click and book through your link.

What if I don't have followers yet?+

Start anyway. Travelpayouts approves creators with zero followers. Build a Pinterest board, a blog, or a niche TikTok around one destination — those often out-earn big Instagram accounts because search intent is stronger.

Can I use these links inside my Rich Off Travel AI trip plans?+

Yes — that's exactly how the two are designed to work together. The AI recommends specific hotels/tours; you generate the Travelpayouts link for each and paste it into your content plan.

Do I have to pay anything?+

No. Travelpayouts is 100% free for creators. They make money from the brands, not from you.
